Alicia de la Paz / Alicia Cuevas de Ortiz is a silversmith from Taxco, Mexico, that began her career in the 1980s. In the 1990s, a tragic automobile accident left Alicia partially paralyzed, while an economic recession swept over the country. Although these events affected business negatively, she was able to eventually recover and continue working. Her early work was done in .950 silver while her contemporary pieces are done in .925 sterling silver.
