Austrian china marks
Austrian china marks include the beehive-like Vienna shield; AUSTRIA states origin, while a separate name distinguishes the factory or decorator.
Names, emblems and neighbouring codes
The historic Vienna shield has horizontal bars and can resemble an upright beehive when turned over. Shield-like marks were also used on later wares and by decorators.
What to check next
Orient the device and read all accompanying words before choosing a maker. Compare the body, decoration and full stamp; AUSTRIA wording is an origin clue rather than a particular factory signature.
