Porcelain marks identification
With Porcelain marks identification, Limoges and Dresden can name production or decorating centres rather than one company.
Factory and decoration marks
An underglaze factory mark can accompany an overglaze decorating-studio stamp. Limoges and Dresden can name production or decorating centres rather than one company. On Chinese porcelain a four- or six-character reign mark names a reign.
What to check next
Separate impressed model numbers from painted decoration numbers. Compare the foot, glaze and complete emblem with the marked maker’s forms. A red reign mark and a blue factory emblem require different reference groups.
