About Margot de Taxco
Margot Van Voorhies Carr, better known as Margot de Taxco, moved to Taxco and married Antonio Castillo of Los Castillos. She successfully designed many of their pieces until divorcing Castillo in 1948 and opening her own shop. She had a number of silversmiths and enamelists employed, several of whom she gave permission to use her design blueprints after her death, in 1974.
