About A J Wilkinson Ltd
A. J. Wilkinson continued the Burslem business after Hulme retired in 1885. Following Wilkinson's death in 1891, Arthur Shorter managed and later bought the firm. It moved to the Royal Staffordshire Pottery around 1896. Clarice Cliff joined in 1916 and her Bizarre Ware launched in 1928. Production bearing her name continued until 1964, when the family shares were sold to Midwinter.
