Alcock, Lindley and Bloore was formed in 1919 when the Swinnertons partners bought Smith & Co's Hanley teapot factory. It incorporated in 1931 and also worked in Burslem. Production focused on Samian and Rockingham teapots. The Vulcan Pottery redevelopment was completed in 1952. The Swinnertons group joined Lawleys in 1959 and Allied English Potteries in 1964; the ALB name disappeared around the 1973 merger with Royal Doulton.
