About Birks, Rawlins & Co (Ltd)

The Vine Pottery began as L.A. Birks & Co in Stoke-upon-Trent in 1895 and later traded as Birks, Rawlins & Co. Designer Edmund G. Reuter joined in 1901 and developed Persindo Porcelain. The company also used Savoy China and Royal Mercian names. Wiltshaw & Robinson acquired it by 1928; attempts to revive production under Birks and Carlton names ended with the Vine Pottery's closure in 1933.
