About Bridgwood & Clarke
Jesse Bridgwood and Edward Clarke manufactured earthenware and white ironstone at the Churchyard Works, Burslem. They expanded to the Phoenix Works, Tunstall, in 1862 while retaining the Burslem works. Much of the opaque porcelain or white granite output served the American market. After Bridgwood died in 1864, Clarke continued both works.
