About Bristol-Plymouth-New Hall

William Cookworthy developed an English hard porcelain at Plymouth in 1768 and moved his factory to Bristol in 1770. Richard Champion bought it in 1773 and sold it in 1781 to the Staffordshire Ceramics Company. The new owners moved production to New Hall, making mainly everyday tableware until the 1820s.
