Charles Meakin manufactured earthenware and ironstone at the Trent Pottery in Burslem and later the Eastwood Pottery in Hanley. He established Eastwood around 1882; it was absorbed by J. & G. Meakin in 1887, and production under his own name had ended by 1889.
