William Myatt Cumberlidge and Joseph Humphreys manufactured earthenware at the Well Street Pottery, Tunstall, from 1880 to 1885, moving to the Gordon Pottery in 1886. George Frederick Helé joined in 1889 and left in 1890, after which the original name resumed. John Humphreys junior joined the business; Cumberlidge left in October 1893 and it continued as Humphreys Brothers.
