About Rock Creek Pottery Douglass Rankin

Douglass Rankin (1948–2022) and Will Ruggles made functional wood-fired pottery at Rock Creek Pottery in Bakersville, North Carolina. Their thrown or drape-moulded pots used simple slip brushwork and once-fired glazes, influenced by the Hamada–Leach–Yanagi tradition. They also taught kiln-building workshops.
