About Dunn, Bennett & Co

Dunn, Bennett & Co was established in Hanley in 1876 by William Dunn, William Wood-Bennett and Enoch Colclough. It made earthenware and ironstone, including durable hotel, ship and institutional catering ware. Production moved to Burslem in 1886 under the Royal Victoria Pottery name; the company became limited in 1907. Around 1937 it moved to Dalehall Works.

Royal Doulton acquired the business in 1968, and a 1983 management buyout of the hotelware businesses led to Steelite International.
