E. Brain & Co manufactured porcelain and china at the Foley China Works in Fenton. Elijah Brain and G. Hawker took over Robinson’s business in 1884, retaining the Robinson name until 1903. William Henry Brain continued the partnership after Hawker left in 1912. Eustace William Brain joined in 1931. The firm acquired the Coalport name and goodwill in 1958 and traded solely as Coalport from 1963; Wedgwood acquired its share capital in 1967.
