Ed Byers and Holden McCurry have worked in ceramics since 1997 and as a team since 2003. Their sculpture combines slabs, extrusions, coils and pinched forms with mixed media. Prayer chapels and towers are recurring subjects. Textures are made with natural found objects, handmade stamps and roulettes, with terra sigillata, slips, oxides and sgraffito also used.
