Edge, Malkin & Co manufactured earthenware at the Newport and Middleport potteries in Burslem. Its partners included Joseph Edge, William Millett Edge, John Wilcox Edge and James Malkin. The Edge family continued the business after the Malkins left, retaining the firm’s name. It went into voluntary liquidation by 1902, after which Samuel W. Dean continued at Newport Pottery as S. W. Dean. A related tile business was called Malkin, Edge & Co.
