About Edward Walley

Edward Walley manufactured earthenware, parian and salt-glazed ware at the Villa Pottery in Cobridge. He continued alone after Elijah Jones left in 1845, traded with William Walley from about 1856, and also worked the Scotia Pottery in Burslem by 1860. The business employed 360 people in 1861. William left in 1862, and Edward retired from manufacturing in 1865, becoming a commission agent and potter’s valuer. Products included relief-moulded jugs and printed ironstone.
