Elijah Jones manufactured earthenware at several Stoke-on-Trent works: Hall Lane in Hanley in 1828, Phoenix Works in Shelton from 1831, and Villa Pottery in Cobridge from 1832. He partnered with Edward Walley at Villa Pottery. The source prefers approximately 1835–1845 for Jones & Walley, citing a partnership dissolution on 19 February 1845, and notes conflicting published operation dates.
