Elsa Rady (1943–2011) made simple porcelain vases, bottles and bowls, often with diagonal rim cuts that suggest motion. Her work drew on classical and Asian ceramic traditions and modern design. She studied at Chouinard with Ralph Bacerra and Otto and Vivika Heino, designed for Interpace Franciscan China and Swid Powell, and maintained a studio in Venice, California.
