About Fleshpots

Potter and engineer Morris Rushton founded Fleshpots in Hanley in 1978. It made humorous ceramic designs, including a torso-shaped casserole set and Hollywood portrait busts, and exported much of its work to the United States. Rushton supplied designs to Next and traditional wares to the National Trust, and took over James Kent in 1985.
