About Helena Wolfsohn

Helena Wolfsohn continued L. Meyer & Söhne, decorating bought-in porcelain in early Meissen and Watteau styles. Her daughter Emilie Elb took over in 1878. Following Meissen’s challenge to the AR mark, the studio stopped using it in Germany in 1881 and England in 1883. The business passed through later owners and continued under Walter Ernst Stephan until 1949.
