About Hoechst
Höchst porcelain manufacture was founded in 1746 under a privilege from the Elector of Mainz; the Mainz wheel became its emblem. Early faience production was followed by porcelain in 1750. Production stopped in 1792–1793 and the company dissolved in 1796. The source describes renewed production from 1947 and several later closures and restarts.
