John and William Pratt made earthenware at Lane Delph, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. William Pratt senior had operated there from around 1753 until his death in 1799. His widow and sons continued pottery manufacture, and John eventually joined William to form J & W Pratt. Their brothers Felix Edward and Richard formed a separate business.
