About J T Hudden
John Thomas Hudden established an earthenware factory in Stafford Street, Longton, in 1859, later operating the British Anchor Works in Anchor Road from around 1874. The works employed about 100 people in 1881. Hudden became bankrupt in 1883, and around 1884 the works became the British Anchor Pottery Co. Ltd.
