About James A. Leedy James Leedy
James Leedy (1930–2021) worked in abstract expressionist ceramics, making oversized functional forms and large sculptures combining thrown, cast and slab-built components. He taught at the University of Montana and at Kansas City Art Institute, and founded the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in 1985. Rudi Autio and Peter Voulkos were important colleagues and influences.
