About Joel Edwards
Joel Edwards (1923–2007) studied with Peter Voulkos at Otis Art Institute and also with Marguerite Wildenhain and Shoji Hamada. He worked as a studio potter from 1957 to 1990 and later taught at California Lutheran University. His reduction-fired stoneware and porcelain ranged from tableware to monumental forms, with brushwork, sgraffito and applied decoration.
