About John Gill
John Gill, born in 1949, studied at Cornish School of Allied Arts, Kansas City Art Institute and Alfred University. He became a professor of ceramic art at Alfred in 1984. He makes brightly coloured sculpture beginning with vessel forms, combining altered thrown components and slab-built additions in stoneware and earthenware.
