About John Turner / John & William Turner

John Turner (1737–1787) worked in partnership with William Banks at Stoke before establishing his Lane End manufactory in 1762. His sons John and William joined around 1780 and succeeded him in 1787. The firm made earthenware, creamware, jasper-type ware and early ironstone-type bodies. William received a patent for Patent Stone in January 1800. A later partnership with John Glover and Charles Simpson ended in bankruptcy in 1806; William continued manufacturing until 1829.
