About John Wedg Wood
John Wedg Wood manufactured earthenware at Hadderidge Bank in Burslem and later in Woodland Street, Tunstall. He was a great-grandson of Ralph Wood and was related to the Wedgwood family through his mother. He died in May 1857, aged 43, but the business continued under the J. Wedgwood name until 1875. Marks may separate Wedg and Wood with a gap or dot; the source distinguishes them from Josiah Wedgwood’s marks.
