About Joseph Schachtel Sophienau Zofiówka
Julius Schwarz established the Sophienau porcelain factory in 1857; Joseph Schachtel bought it two years later. The factory added porcelain painting and electrical porcelain, with insulators becoming its main business. It continued electrical porcelain production after nationalization following the Second World War.
