Karen Abeita makes hand-coiled pottery using clay gathered on the Hopi reservation, hand polishing, painting and outdoor firing. Her decoration includes geometric patterns, katchina figures and the Butterfly Maiden motif. She learned from Mark Tahbo, Fawn Navasie and Rondina Huma.
