Katherine Choy made wheel-thrown stoneware with copper-red, celadon and iron-rich glazes, as well as tiles and garden furniture. Her later vessels combined throwing, alteration, textured surfaces and coloured slips. In 1957 she founded the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, New York, with Henry Okamoto becoming a partner soon afterwards.
