About Kay Feist
Kay Feist makes wheel-thrown and hand-built functional and decorative stoneware, including slab-built mugs and sculpture. She studied with Rudy Autio and Frances Senska in Montana and uses slips, sprigging and sgraffito in her surface decoration. She has worked as a professional potter in Great Falls since 1968. Kay Feist makes functional and decorative stoneware by throwing and hand building, including slab-built mugs, masks and figurative sculpture.
She uses coloured slips, sprigging and sgraffito before glazing and gas firing. Her teaching and kiln-building work supported other ceramic artists in Montana.
