About KPM Berlin

Berlin porcelain production began under Wilhelm Caspar Wegely in 1751. Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky established a successor factory in 1761 and sold it to Frederick II in 1763, when it became Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur and adopted the blue sceptre. Renamed Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur after 1918, it was rebuilt after wartime destruction in 1943.
