Larry Allen makes wheel-thrown functional and decorative vessels in black stoneware. He uses slip, wax, sgraffito carving and multiple glaze firings, including low-fire red highlights. His designs draw on Native American and African art. He established La Pottery in Leeds, Alabama after graduating from Berea College in 1978.
