About M.S. Kuznetsov plant
M.S. Kuznetsov bought the Tver works from Auerbach in 1870. Both brands were used together until 1875. The factory gained the right to use the state coat of arms in 1872. Initially producing faience, it introduced porcelain, majolica, terracotta, semifaience and building materials in 1884–1885. It also made fireplaces, stoves, iconostases and image cases. Nationalized in 1918, it was called the Tver State Factory in the 1920s and named after Kalinin in 1924.
Kuznetsovo was renamed Konakovo in 1930. The factory’s name changed again in 1931 and 1937.
