About Machin & Potts
Machin & Potts made china and earthenware at Waterloo Road, Burslem. William Wainwright Potts joined William Machin around 1833. The Potts brothers patented machinery for printing continuous patterns on transfer tissue in 1831 and a multicolour version in 1835. The partnership between Machin and Potts dissolved on 18 October 1838.
