About Martinroda
Friedrich and Herrmann Eger founded a porcelain factory in Martinroda, Thuringia, in 1900. Production stopped at the beginning of the Second World War and resumed in June 1946. The factory was nationalized in 1972 and incorporated into VEB Zierporzellan Lichte. Porcelain production ended in January 1977, after which the site became a decorating operation. The owners’ heirs regained control in October 1990.
