About Mary Law

Mary Law makes functional pottery, principally porcelain fired in a sodium-vapour kiln, often using Shino and tenmoku glazes. She studied with Karen Karnes and Byron Temple at Penland and apprenticed with Temple from 1969 to 1971. Her House Pots, begun in 1984, were inspired by photographs of West African adobe granaries.
