About Michael Arntz

Michael Arntz makes large landscape sculptures and vessels in stoneware, sometimes adding rope, wood or leather after firing. He has also worked in porcelain and earthenware. Early vessel forms were influenced by southwestern Native American pottery and other traditions. He taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara, from 1965 to 1990.
