About Michael Kline
Michael Kline makes functional pottery with curving botanical brushwork, often black on thick white slip. He also inlays porcelain into impressed patterns. He has worked as a studio potter since 1993 and established Okra Pottery in Massachusetts and North Carolina. After a Penland residency, he built a wood kiln in North Carolina. His work draws on the local natural world and Catawba Valley and Seagrove pottery traditions.
