About Podmore China Co
Arthur James Podmore started the business at the Sylvan Works in Hanley in 1921, with William and Ernest Podmore as partners. They made crested china, tea ware, novelties and earthenware. The partnership dissolved in July 1927. The works closed in 1941 and later reopened under new ownership as Sylvan Pottery Ltd.
