3 marksAbout Ralph & James Clews
Ralph and James Clews made earthenware at Cobridge. Documentary evidence places the partnership in operation by November 1815, earlier than dates commonly given in references. They rented Cobridge Works in 1817 and became bankrupt in 1834. Their blue-printed wares included British views and narrative series exported to America. James Clews later joined the Indiana Pottery Company.
