About Bob Robert Andersen
Robert Andersen earned a BFA at the University of Northern Iowa in 1968, taught art in Ames and was potter in residence at Des Moines Art Center from 1973 to 1977. From 1977 he worked at Sunflower Pottery in Kalona, Iowa. He and Connie Andersen collaborate on functional stoneware decorated with agricultural motifs. Robert throws and begins decorating the vessels; Connie handles glazing.
Found objects are used to impress surface designs, and vessel exteriors are often unglazed.
