About Robert Winokur
Robert Winokur (1933–2020) earned degrees at Tyler School of Art and Alfred and later taught at Tyler. His ceramic sculpture explores houses as containers, developing from functional vessels into house forms and table-based groups. He often used slab-built Pennsylvania brick and fire clay with salt firing. His other forms include shrines, wedges and figures.
