About Sanam Emami
Sanam Emami makes utilitarian pottery and tiles using throwing, hand building and slip casting. Her forms and surface patterns reflect Iranian roots and pre-Islamic and Islamic art and architecture. Techniques include screen printing, stenciling, carving and translucent glaze over dark clay. She earned an MFA at Alfred University in 2002 and joined Colorado State University in 2007.
