About Sandra Lee Simon Sandy Simon

Sandy Simon makes minimal functional porcelain forms with simple glazing, sometimes altered by piercing, relief or wire handles. She studied with Curtis Hoard and Warren MacKenzie at the University of Minnesota in the late 1960s and followed the Mingei-Sota approach to useful handmade pottery. In 1995 she opened TRAX Gallery in Berkeley, California, to represent functional potters.
