About Schumann Arzberg
Christian Heinrich Schumann and Franz Ferdinand Riess founded Porzellanfabrik Schumann & Riess in Arzberg, Bavaria, in 1881. After Schumann died in 1884, his widow Christiana managed the business until Carl Schumann took over. It became Porzellanfabrik Carl Schumann in 1892 and a stock company in 1923. Successive generations of Carl Schumann led it until Wolfgang Schupli took over in 1990. Production ceased in 1994.
