4 marksAbout Schumann Moabit
Johann Friedrich Ferdinand Schumann founded a porcelain factory near Tangerhütte in 1827 and began production at Moabit, Berlin, in 1834. The factory also decorated whiteware bought from KPM. Friedrich Adolph Schumann took over in 1835; the business used F.A. Schumann & Sohn from 1841. Appelhans and Zepernick acquired it around 1868, and it became Berliner Porzellan-Manufaktur AG in 1872. Production stopped in 1880.
Max Ludloff reused its assets in a new factory that closed in 1889.
