The Sloviansk ceramic plant began in 1893 as the Dziewulski and Lange company, founded by Jan Dziewulski and brothers Józef and Władysław Lange to make floor tiles. Production stopped after the 1917 revolution, resumed in 1925 and the works was renamed for Krupskaya in 1926. The plant was evacuated during World War II and its Sloviansk buildings were destroyed. It later produced white, blue and green tiles.
After the Soviet Union collapsed, financial difficulties reduced employment to 157 by 2001.
